BYU Baseball on a Roll

BYU Radio Sports Update!

BYU Baseball is on a winning streak after sweeping the three game series against #1 ranked San Francisco this weekend. Despite the bad weather BYU put up a great fight winning all three games (14-4, 6-5, and 3-2). Freshman Colton Shaver had a hot bat this weekend and added to his season batting record for a total of 10 home-runs and an incredible 27 RBIs. This week BYU Baseball will play UVU Tuesday night and have a 3 game series with Pacific through the weekend.

The Men's Volleyball team had an upset in California for the MFSP quarterfinals. They lost in a 5 game set to #4 ranked USC. Head coach Chris McGown said, "I thought we showed up for the most part tonight when we needed to. I liked the way we battled back throughout the match, especially in the last three sets. Ultimately, USC made just a few more critical plays at critical times and that cost us the match." Even though its the end of the season, BYU still had 5 seniors be awarded ALL-MPSF awards this season.

McKenna Bull was on fire this week against #2 San Diego. She only let 9 hits and 5 runs go in the 3 game series. BYU Softball swept San Diego for the series win. This week the team will welcome Weber on Tuesday and will travel to California for a 3 game series against Santa Clara.

Men's Volleyball beats #1 Hawai'i

BYU Radio sports update!

It was an exciting weekend for Men's Volleyball who won both games against #1 ranked Hawai'i this weekend! And on Senior night none the less! This week they will take on #8 ranked USC Saturday night for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation quarterfinals.

Last week was pretty quiet for BYU Baseball when it comes to games, but their recruiting was anything but. They announced a huge recruit with Kyle Deans who signed a National Letter of Intent with BYU Baseball last Wednesday. This week they will take on long time rivals University of Utah and have a three game series against San Francisco.

BYU Softball was rained out against Weber State last week, but had a double header against SUU. Both teams split the double header, coming up with one win and one lose. Sophomore Lauren Bell came up with 4 RBI's to help the team take the win in game one. This week the team will face Utah State and a three game series against San Diego.
