Talk About Good

At BYU Radio, our aim is to "Talk About Good."

The world is overwrought with negativity, but does this negativity really affect us? Ghandi wrote, "Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive, because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive, because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny." Conversely, negative thoughts will adversely affect our destiny.

We are surrounded by negativity in all forms of media: we encounter incivility in political discourse, sensationalized coverage of tragic news stories, crude music, violent movies and debasing TV shows or video games. There's no doubt that these exposures to negativity stick with us. Whether we realize it or not, they affect our emotions, words, and actions.

BYU Radio tries to combat the negativity by being a force for good. We follow the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." So while we cannot stop all negative forces, we can provide some positive alternatives: interviews and conversations always several cuts above conventional talk radio, enthusiastic sports events, uplifting musical artists, reflective treatment of emerging news, and more--all with the purpose of providing something good to help you get through your day.

So join us as we Talk About Good every day on BYU Radio.

How do you fill your life with good?
